LATTES

 

Prof. Bittencourt graduated in Mechanic Engineering at Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (1984), obtained his M.S. degree in Mine, Metalurgic and Material Engineering at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1987), his Doctor degree in Civil Engineering at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (a “sandwich” program together with Université de Liège, 1994) and his post-doctorate degree at Brown University.

 

 

Research Interests

“My area of interest comprises those problems in mechanic and civil engineering that mainly deal with Mechanics of Plastic and Elastic Solid Bodies, working primarily with the following themes: fracture mechanics, fatigue, multi-scale modeling, and interface phenomena.”
