Relinter (Secretaria de Relações Internacionais – Office of International Affairs) is part of the Central Administration of UFRGS. Relinter is responsible for promoting and managing international cooperation with foreign institutions. It was established in 1993 as the Department for Institutional and International Relations and became Relinter in 2000. Even in the late 1800’s, international and institutional cooperation was a priority in Rio Grande do Sul. This only developed and expanded with increasing globalization during the 20th century, making international relations at UFRGS essential to educational exchange.
