Objective

The Faculty of Economics main objective is to offer qualified undergraduate and graduate courses, in addition to developing research and extension activities in all areas of its capacity.

History

The Faculty of Economics is a century-old institution and one of the oldest units at UFRGS. Its origin dates back to the old School of Commerce, established on November 26, 1909, when it was a part of the Liberal School of Law, until 1945. The School of Commerce initially offered two courses: a general course consisting of three years and a Degree course consisting of two years. On November 26, 2009, the Faculty of Economics celebrated its 100th anniversary.
