The
Photography Center uses since 1992 its own knowledge
generated in research projects and the experience
obtained in the extension activities, in the development
of the twelve (12) photography classes that integrate
the curricula of UFRGS graduation courses
in Journalism, Publicity, Public Relationships and
Archivology. Now, it is assisting each semester
an average of 270~300 students. Linked to the College
of Librarianship and Communication(FABICO) of UFRGS,
the Photography Center counts with a Theory Photography
Lab, that besides being the space for the photography
theoretical practice, it is also the stage for critical
discussion regarding the photographic image in their
aesthetic and semantic aspects. The practical classes
are taught at the printing in Black
and White Laboratory of Didacticism (practical classes),
equipped now with photographic enlargers at the
35mm , 6x9 and 4´x 5´format, where the
students have the opportunity to develop their photographic
lab processes in black and white and color in analogical
and digital photography, improving their technical
abilities and giving place to creativity. The use
of the laboratory is not restricted just to the
class schedule: a team of monitors is always ready
to assist, even during college vacations, under
schedules previously set, since the interested party
is a student in FABICO/UFRGS and has already attended
to Introduction to the Photographic Techniques
classes.
The
