FOT.XPER.UFRGS
The
Program FOT.XPER.UFRGS, aims to develop the graphic-visual
creativity and criticism, through individual projects
experimenting with image, with the application of
multi-processes in authorial photography. These
are graduation-level projects, being a normal graduation
course that can be carried out into a master’s
degree project, as an emphatic element on the subject
of the graphically exposed image. The students that
are taking part, are from of several areas of UFRGS,
selected after working as trainees in
GEF- Experimental Photography
Group.
Research subjects:
1 -
Experimental and Applied photography - Experimental
studies, handling of photographic chemicals, to
achieve new forms “imagéticas”,
with qualitative and artistic purposes;
2 – Authorial Photography-
through personal inspection of photographic taking,
and special techniques in black and white photographic
laboratory, to develop authorial projects in photo;
3 - Theory of the Surrounding
Universes - experimental observation methodology
of and photographic taking. Concepts about the subject
and the space in that it is inserted in.

PROJECTS IN PROCESS
a)
Photography as qualifying element in the development
of the Environmental Education, in the Public
Net of Fundamental Teaching;
b) Optimization
of Photographic Films in Black and white, with
the use of Sodium Borate;
c) Application
of the Theory
of the Surrounding Universes,
as Experimental Observation Methodology and Photographic
Obtaining;
d) Photography
as a laboratory of ideas. Constitution of GEF
(1st Group of Experimental Photography),
for students graduating in Communication, Arts,
Archivology, Geography, Architecture and others
areas from UFRGS, having in the exercises and
photographic handling the development of creativity
and graphic visual criticism.
LEXIS - EXPERIMENTAL LABORATORY
OF IMAGE AND SOUND
LEXIS is constituted of two laboratories,
one of analogue photography (photochemical lab and
fine arts), another of digital photography. It is
the Photography Center’s research area, where
the analogue and digital photography are experimentally
handled, based on artistic and scientific methodologies,
that provide the knowledge acquisition in the mentioned
area.
