The
photographical images which form the
essay "Visions" are an homage
paid by nine photographers to the Farroupilha
Park, also known as "Redenção",
a great place for leisure, for meeting
friends, taking a walk with the family
and being in contact with nature. This
pleasant site, near downtown Porto Alegre
in Brazil, has been chosen by these
nine artists to be photographically
documented through their different perceptions,
emotions and views. Essentially, "Visions"
is a work that portrays feelings which
the photographer got at the very moment
he captured this or that scene. They
are pictures of several atmospheres,
from the colored to the black &
white ones, from the movement to the
bucolic, from the human swarm to the
lonely night space. In short, they register
the linking of life with the Park's
environment, but under the signature
of each photographer. Mario Bitt-Monteiro
