| With
a systematic acquirement of visual information
(by photography and video recording),
we aim to constitute a collection of
analogical and digital photographic
images of the genetic banks in conservation
areas that are under the responsibility
of the Government of the State of Rio
Grande do Sul, through of Zoobotanical
Fundation.
The
Bios Project, part of a cooperation
agreement between the Federal University
of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and the
Zoobotanical Foundation of Rio Grande
do Sul, intends to create a detailed
and wide image bank of the biological
specimens of the Natural Science Museum,
Botanical Garden and Zoological Park
(Esteio – Rio Grande do Sul).
This is the BIOS Project: Images of
the Southern Biosphere of Brazil, and
its sub-project "Image Bank of
Biological Collection".
The
production of imagens of this collection
has the intention of promoting activities
of environmental and ecological education
for regional, national and international
communities besides providing the creation
of a bank of images, composed of three
interlinked digital stations, endowed
with fast access to the visual information,
provided with scientific textual data
of the environments in this project,
as follows:
1 - Botanical Garden of Porto Alegre
2 - Zoological Park of Rio Grande do
Sul
