Impressions
on an expedition to the Patagônia Argentina
The trip
to Patagonia was AS IF A DREAM HAD COME TRUE. Far
from being a
personal achievement, it became the wish of 21 person,
that faced a long
journey on a bus to south of Argentina, with a specific
and clear objectiv:
photograph Patagonia. After driving for a long time
trough the excelent
argentinian roads, we came across Puerto Madryn.
From there we went to the
little Puerto Piramides, where we stayed in the
warming Pousada Austral
hotel. Although we were tired from the long trip,
we decided to have a look
at the sea. It was unbelievable. The water was of
a beautiful color, you
couldn't be sure if it was blue or green, or if
it was... I don't know...
some marvelous color. If this landscape wasn't enough,
the end of the day
drew to a magnific yellow-red sun that left long
shadows on the limitless
ground. As the day came to an end, we stood there,
mouth open, somewhat
silly. No doubt at all, the first impression we
won't forget. One by one, we
went to each of our rooms. Already satisfied and
convinced about the beauty
of the place, it was important to leave everything
well organized, equipment
and routine, for the next days.

From that day on, out thoughts
and atitute
changed completely. We took conscience that we were
photographers and
nothing but that. We left the routine we adopted
in our hometowns and our
jobs. From that moment, we went deep in the feeling
of being a photographer.
We were trapped by the magic that Patagonia had.
We photographed several
spots of the Valdes Peninsula, like Punta Norte,
Punta Quiroga, Calleta
Valdes, Hacienda San Lorenzo and so on. The reason,
well...

The fauna
was amazing. Many sea wolves, sea elephant, penguins,
whales, the
sea birds and many other animals of this coast.
These places that we
visited, which were heavily photographed, are part
of a large park that is
ecologically preserved, as a natural property of
humanity, called Peninsula
Valdes. We were very well treated by all the people.
In every place we went,
we felt at home and that represented one of the
high points of our
expedition.

There
we reach the highest levels of environment for photographic
activity. Every place visited reveal something new,
whether a peculiar landscape or exotic animals.
We have those every moment alive and on the reach
of the “click” of our equipments –
we were always ready to remark a new apparition.
It was 6 days of intensive photographic registrations,
without dropping the camera. To result we have about
16.000 images.

We enjoy lots of visual, tactile, smelling, auditory
emotions. All of that proportioned for a wonderful
and magic land. It was like been, breathe and live
as we ask God. Without been a dream, but a delight
reality reaches by our camera.
