General Information

The M.Sc. course is offered in the following areas of study:

a) Mineral Technology, Environmental Studies, Extractive Metallurgy.
b) Fabrication Processes
c) Materials Science and Technology

The M.Sc. will have a minimum and maximum duration of one and two years, respectively.

In order to complete a M.Sc. degree, the candidate must: 

- Complete 24 credits in courses, of which 15 must be within the candidate’s area of study;

– Have completed the course on Teaching I, which is compulsory for students holding a Brazilian government scholarship.

– Have passed a Proficiency Test in English.

– Have his M.Sc. Thesis approved by an Evaluation Board.

Have published (or have received the official acceptance for publication of) at least one paper in an scientific event in his area of study.

Obs.: the M.Sc. Thesis can be substituted by a formal document containing 2 published (or formally accepted publications) in international journals which are classified as such by CAPES. The document must contain, besides copies of the papers, chapters with an Abstract, an Introduction, an Integration of the papers, Conclusions, and References, and must conform to templates established by the Post-Graduation Commission.
