Dear Colleagues, Preparations for the XXII Jornada Sul-Rio-Grandense de Psiquiatria Dinâmica are well under way. The XXII Meeting will be held on August 19, 20 and 21, 2004 at the Convention Center of AMRIGS, and will address "THERAPEUTICS IN MENTAL HEALTH: CHALLENGES AND PERSPECTIVES". Maintaining its tradition, the XXII Meeting will promote the integration of knowledge and will update participants on new scientific advancements. The program is being organized so as to encompass the various areas in our field. We believe discussions will be of interest to all those who work with mental health. The following guest speakers will participate in the discussions: Dr. Valentim Gentil Filho and Dr. Beny Lafer, psychiatrists and well-known collaborators in previous Meetings, and Dr. Vicente Galli, a psychoanalyst and university professor who has taught at psychoanalysis institutes in Argentina. The discussion of the challenges and perspectives of therapeutics in mental health will be enriched by the simultaneous realization of the II Fórum Ibero-Americano de Qualidade de Vida, which will review and discuss the different aspects related to quality of life. Thus, besides the guest speakers listed above, we will be counting with the presence of international researchers who carry out significant works on quality of life: Jordi Alonso (Spain), Jakob Bjorner (USA), Monika Bullinger (Germany), Martin Eisemann (Norway), Ann Green (Scotland), Michael Power (Scotland), Silke Schmidt (Germany), Guus Van Heck (The Netherlands), John Ware (USA). Certainly, both the Meeting and the Forum will be a unique opportunity for qualification, integration, as well as professional growth. We count on your presence.
