The People’s Republic of China has reopened its embassy in the Sao Tome capital on Monday (3/04). The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chinese Business Manager, Wang Wei, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities of Sao Tome and Principe, Urbino Botellho. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were broken in 1997 and reestablished in December 2016. It should be noted that Sao Tome and Principe was one of the few African countries still maintaining diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
