International Seminar on Music Education

The Music Postgraduate Program of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, through the research group FAPROM coordinated by Professor Liane Hentschke, will hold the International Seminar on Music Education. This event will take place on 21 and  22  November 2016 and the keynote speaker will be Professor Liora Bresler. This seminar is open to music teachers of all levels of education, since it will address contemporary questions about music teaching, national and international music education policies and qualitative research in music education. One highlight will be the Professor Bresler opening lecture about entrepreneurship in music education, a subject that has been discussed in international forums on arts teaching....

On December 12th 2015 the master student of the Music Graduate Program of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and member of FAPROM Group Fernanda Krüger presented her work at VIII Academic Guitar Symposium of the Fine Arts and Music School of Paraná. Fernanda presented, as an oral communication, a research titled “The collective guitar instruction methodology of the Projeto Prelúdio (Preludio Project): a collective construction”. This research was conducted in a lato sensu graduate course that she completed in 2014, before entering her actual graduate course. Every year all master and PhD students of the Graduate Program in Music of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul organize a symposium to talk about studies which students and former students made during of the course their researches besides and to discuss about international and national interest themes of the area. This year, the symposium happened  took place between November 18th and november 20th and many teachers of the Graduate Program was there, including Professor Liane, who coordinates FAPROM Group.
