There will be a small get-together among those present, with a coffee break included! Andr\u00e9a&#8217;s presentation is titled &#8220;Future Applications of Regenerative Finance in Centralized Financial Institutions&#8221;. The meeting will be this Thursday (12\/12), from 8:45 am to 10 am, in a hybrid format (Zoom and, preferably, in-person). However, the energy required to validate a transaction of its most well-known cryptocurrency can power about 20 residences for a day, and it is estimated that the energy needed to support this market is considered higher than the consumption of countries like Switzerland and Denmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An area of Sustainable Finance is using Decentralized Finance technologies, such as blockchain and web3, to create an economic system that not only tries to reduce its ecosystem impact but to regenerate it. This area is known as &#8216;Regenerative Finance&#8217;. The research to be presented seeks to analyze how, in an existing financial system, financial institutions can use decentralized technologies to develop or adapt their operations in an intelligent and regenerative manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andr\u00e9a Fechner is a Master&#8217;s student in Administration in the Market, Behavior, and Innovation (MCI) research line &#8211; PPGAd at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). She has a bachelor&#8217;s degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFSCPA). A researcher in entrepreneurship and blockchain with a scholarship &#8211; exclusive dedication (CNPq). She is a member of the Research Group on Marketing and Consumption (GPMC) at UFRGS and a student member of the coordination of the Research and Innovation Group in Marketing and Consumption at PUCRS.
