Netto-Ferreira<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"node_label\">Abstract<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"issue_description\">\n<p><em>Astyanax bifasciatus<\/em>\u00a0Garavelo &amp; Sampaio, 2010 was originally described as endemic to the Igua\u00e7u river basin. Between March 2017 and January 2018, specimens of\u00a0<em>A. bifasciatus<\/em>\u00a0were sampled during expeditions to headwater streams of the Piquiri river basin, upper Paran\u00e1 river basin. The identification was confirmed both by morphological and molecular analyses, representing, therefore, the first record of the species outside of the basin of the Igua\u00e7u River.
