With promising results in relation to mental health and school performance, social-emotional learning has gained recognition from scientific studies conducted in public schools and was inserted as part of the content covered in Brazilian schools. In this sense, the goal is to investigate the results of the program called \u201cSEJA: Social-emotional for an Attentive Youth\u201d, with the outcome of promoting the mental health of students, examining indicators of emotional and behavioral problems, academic performance and school attendance, in addition to understanding the benefits and limitations involved in the proposal from the perspective of teachers. This is a pre-experimental study, with a mixed method reserach approach, which will be carried out longitudinally from three stages: T1 (pre-intervention), T2 (post-intervention) and T3 (follow-up after six months from the end of the intervention). At least 365 students and 250 teachers will be assessed using the SDQ and SRQ-20. Sociodemographic data, academic performance scores and school attendance will also be collected and focus groups will be held. Repeated measures ANOVA, Linear Regression and thematic analysis will be used for data analysis. It is expected that students show a decrease in the indicators of emotional and behavioral problems, in self-assessment and in the evaluation of parents and teachers.
