Lilac August

August lilac is an annual landmark of awareness and confrontation to violence against women and, in 2025, gains even more strength with the campaign "Do not let the end of the line. Call 180", which reinforces the role of Maria da Penha Law as an instrument of protection and transformation of lives.

The campaign focuses on informing, protecting and calling society to collective responsibility, with special attention to women in situations of violence. With accessible language and educational approach, mobilization seeks to broaden the knowledge of the rights guaranteed by the legislation, the complaint channels and the specialized service services.

"women's lives depends on concrete actions, serious public policies and a communication that welcomes, orient and protect. Feminicide is avoidable, and the federal government is committed to turning this key," says women minister Marcia Lopes.
