Lilac August - Don't Shut Up

The campaign “Lilac August – Don't shut up” is an initiative of the Government of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, which aims to combat domestic and family violence against women. Its objective is to intensify the dissemination of the Maria da Penha Law, sensitize and make society aware of the subject, publicize the reporting channels and specialized services for assisting women in situations of violence.

The initiative emerged in 2016, idealized by the Undersecretary of Public Policies for Women (SPPM). The 2021 edition addresses the 15 years of the Maria da Penha Law, presenting informational materials about the law and its application challenges. Furthermore, the lilac August foresees mobilizations, lectures and all conversation.
