Cartoons against violence

From November 20th, the National Council of Justice and the Federal Supreme Court (STF) will promote the 21 Days of Activism to End Violence against Women. This movement aims to raise awareness in society about the issue of violence, especially in the Judiciary, taking inspiration from the global action called 16 Days of Activism to End Violence against Women, which began in 1991 following the murder of the Mirabal sisters, in 1960, in Dominican Republic.

The campaign represents the deepening of policies to combat gender-based violence, feminicide and other forms of aggression against women. Furthermore, it is aligned with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 5, which seeks gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls, as well as the elimination of all forms of violence against all women and girls.

In the 2023 edition, the campaign promotes the Cartoons against Violence” initiative, inviting 25 female cartoonists to create cartoons on the topic, which will be published in the country's main media outlets.
