Donate organs. life needs to go on

The Ministry of Health released, this Thursday (24), the balance sheet on the donation of organs, tissues and cells and transplants carried out in the country in the first half of 2020. On the occasion, the National Campaign to Encourage Donation was also launched , which this year has the slogan “Donate organs. Life must go on.”. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of donation to save the lives of many people waiting for a transplant.

At this time of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus, oronavirus, a decline in organ donations and transplants has been observed throughout the world and in Brazil, making it a challenge for countries, both for efforts to maintain donations and to ensure the safety of health teams and patients. The campaign became even more necessary, given the fact that Brazil had an increasing number of transplants in recent years.
