#RuralWomen, women with rights
The Special Secretariat for Family Agriculture and Agrarian Development (Sead) launched the international campaign #Rural Women, women with rights, on March 23 in Brasília. The objective is to give visibility to these women and the work they carry out for socioeconomic and sustainable development.
The campaign for the empowerment of rural women continues until November and is based on the 17 UN Development Goals which present more than 170 goals to countries that belong to the Organization and marks the year 2030 as the deadline for completion and positive results against the proposed objectives. The aim is to promote the exchange of experiences between the countries involved, in addition to providing a dialogue on the public policies developed in the sector. The actions aim at access to information, encouraging the awakening of the empowerment of women who live and work with the land.
Period: from March to November 2017.
