The Public and Political Communication Nucleus, linked to the Graduate Program in Communication and Information at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGCOM/UFRGS), aims to develop research and teaching activities aimed at the production of knowledge about public communication processes, political actions and products. Nucop comprises doctoral students, master's students, graduates and researchers mobilized by reflection and discoveries on the relationship between the state, the media and society. In this direction, intellectual production is marked by the tension provided by the paradigms "public interests and private interests", which allow analyzing contents, structures and processes related to public events; communication of public and governmental institutions; circulation of sensitive topics in communication networks; visibility and public image; public debates; public media and power exercises.
