The campaign by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), in partnership with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), addresses the importance of freedom of choice and respect for differences. The launch of the initiative coincides with the International Day of Democracy, September 15, a date established in 2007 by the United Nations (UN), in commemoration of the Universal Declaration of Democracy, signed by 128 countries, including Brazil.

The “Peace in the Elections” campaign requests that violence stay out of the electoral dispute and, when comparing football with elections, argues that both popular festivals should be peaceful.
