Security in the electoral process

The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) launched a campaign to clarify the security of the electronic voting system in our country. The audiovisual publicity materials explain how the electronic ballot box works, the security mechanisms of the electoral process and the different ways to audit the vote.

The president of the TSE, Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, reinforces how the electronic voting process has been used for 25 years, with no record of fraud. Furthermore, he highlights how the history of paper votes presents fraud and problems. According to him, “The advent of electronic ballot boxes changed the quality of democracy in Brazil and, since then, electronic ballot boxes have been used successfully, without ever having documented a case of fraud”.
