Vaccine More

The objective of the “Vacina Mais” campaign is to unite efforts to make the population of Brazil aware of the importance of increasing vaccination coverage.

The National Health Council (CNS) recalls that, thanks to vaccines, smallpox was eradicated from the world in 1980. Furthermore, “the region of the Americas was the first on the planet to eliminate diseases such as poliomyelitis (in 1994), rubella and congenital rubella syndrome (in 2015) and neonatal tetanus (in 2017)”, he highlighted.

Despite the remarkable benefits of vaccination, Fernando Pigatto points out that the vaccination coverage rate has fallen in recent years, leaving millions of people at risk and causing the return of diseases such as measles and polio.

In this context, the “Vacina Mais” campaign aims to motivate the population to expand the use of vaccines, seeking to inform different audiences about the safety, importance and effectiveness of vaccination made available by the Unified Health System (SUS) in the National Calendar of Vaccination.
