PAP enzymes (LPP and Lipins) are interesting because their activities can be summarized and distinguished by their cellular localization, substrate selectivity, and enzymatic properties. This study aims to extensively explore the comparative genome analysis of prokaryotic and eukaryotic species for the first time to understand the evolutionary history and current diversity of all paralogs and orthologs of the LPP gene family. We identified 665 LPPs in 79 species and performed phylogenetic analyses using the maximum likelihood (ML) method. This analysis revealed the ancestral origin of LPP genes in early-diverging species, archaea, and cyanobacteria. The phylogeny is organized into five well-resolved clades: I (LPPα1-4), II (LPPβ), III (LPPδ), IV (LPPγ), and V (LPPϵ1/ϵ2). Each clade shows conservation in subcellular location and function. These findings allow us to infer adaptive and environmental diversification characteristics related to the maintenance of paralogous genes in the genomes of most species, seeking to infer whether positive selection on these genes may have promoted diversification that helped plants adapt to contrasting environments. In addition, we identified 11 LPP genes in Eugenia uniflora, a native species adapted to distinct environments of the Atlantic Forest; these genes are distributed in the same five clades proposed for the phylogeny of the LPP family. The progenies of this species were subjected to drought conditions, which influenced the differential expression of some LPP genes. We found five genes in the Restinga population with differential expression, three from Clade I (LPPα1-4) negatively regulated, and one in Clade III and IV, respectively, LPPδ, LPPϵ1/ϵ2 positively regulated, in drought conditions, while in the Riparian Forest population, only one gene from clade IV was positively regulated.

11 de setembro de 2024 (quarta-feira) 12h SEMINÁRIO DE DADOS (Mestrado) MARIA EDUARDA GONÇALVES LACERDA Evolutionary Patterns of the Phosphatidic Acid Phosphatase (PAP) Gene Family in Viridiplantae: Potential Roles in Plant Adaptation to Heterogeneous Environments Orientadora: Dra.
