Centralizing the application process diminishes mobility costs that are salient in the decision of individuals with a disability to apply to a university. We use the implementation of the Brazilian centralized college admission system (SiSU) to test our hypothesis. Our results show that exposure to SiSU by an institutiondegree pair has a significant and sizable effect on the share of new students with disabilities. Institution-degree pairs that have been exposed to nine years of SiSU have an average of 0.77 new students with disabilities more than institution-degree pairs that were not exposed.
