The lecture will introduce the ideas behind Zames-Falb multipliers from a classical passivity\/absolute-stability perspective, and will cover their derivation. The interesting, but also challenging aspect of Zames-Falb multiplier analysis is that, while stability results can be of vastly lower conservatism than Circle\/Popov criteria base approaches, it is difficult to exploit the degrees of freedom offered by the approach in a tractable manner. Therefore, the lecture will also introduce an LMI-based approach for finding sub-classes of Zames-Falb multipliers.
