Next, the we will explore the emerging solutions for the digital transformation of the education, like the hybrid learning model, the gamification of the education and others. The presentation will then continue with case studies and examples of the activities of the educators and scientists at the University of Ruse, which are focused on the transformation of the school and university education in Bulgaria. Actual efforts and activities of the members of the university will be presented, like the training courses in block-based programming of robots and drones and the transformation of the higher education domain using the digital and 3D technologies.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Todos est\u00e3o convidados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cordialmente,<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prof. Dante Barone<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Prof. Dr. Plamen Zahariev, PhD is the Head of the Department of Telecommunications at the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” in Bulgaria and the President of the European Association for Education in Electrical and Information Engineering (EAEEIE). He has more than 18 years of teaching and research experience and is co-author in more than 200 scientific publications. Prof. Zahariev is member of IEEE and ACM, and his recent research interests are in the areas of the wireless and wired networks, the cryptography and cybersecurity, the 3D technologies and their applications, the educational technologies and the technologically enhanced learning, etc. He was project manager, team member and expert in more than 50 institutional, national and international educational and scientific projects, which were funded under EU and Bulgarian programs. Prof. Zahariev is one of the founding members of the UNITe Center of Excellence in Ruse, which is specialized in the 3D technologies and their applications. Besides his regular research and teaching activities in the university, Prof. Zahariev has organized vocational trainings and STEM educational courses for school students and teachers. He has experience and has provided lectures and classes to students from Palestine, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Spain, Poland, France and other countries.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Prof. Dr. Georgi Hristov, PhD is member of the Department of Telecommunications and the Director of the Centre for Information and Computer Services at the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” in Bulgaria. He has more than 20 years of practical experience with telecommunication networks and has obtained several industrial certificates. Prof. Hristov is author and co-author in more than 200 scientific publications and several books. Prof. Hristov is one of Bulgaria’s most renown experts in the area of the 3D digitalization and visualization technologies. He was team member, leading expert and coordinator in several national and international educational and research projects, including projects for digitalization, visualization and popularization of art and cultural heritage. Prof. Hristov is also one of the founding members of the UNITe Center of Excellence in Ruse, which is specialized in the 3D technologies and their applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>

Prof. Hristov is involved in many research projects. He is actively working and is expert in the domains of the 3D digitalization and visualization technologies, the 3D scanning and 3D printing technologies and the unmanned aerial vehicles. He has created and organized several educational groups in schools and training centres in the north-central part of Bulgaria and is making public courses, lectures and seminars on various topics, including Multimedia systems, 3D printing, 3D scanning, 3D modelling and visualisation, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
