GPPI – Performance Practice Research Group

The purpose of the GPPI – ‘Grupo de Pesquisa em Práticas Interpretativas’ (Performance Practice Research Group) is to consolidate a space for study and research in Performance Practice that manifest the legitimacy of musical performance in the academia as a field of knowledge open to deep, relevant and significant scientific discussion, thinking, and studying.

Nepem - Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Educação Musical

NEPEM – ‘Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Educação Musical’ (Center for Studies and Research in Music Education), created in 2001, is a group under the Graduate Program in Music at UFRGS. NEPEM develops research projects in the field of music education, provides advice and consultancy, and develops continuing education programs for teachers.

Group of Music Studies

The Group of Music Studies (‘Grupo de Estudos Musicais’ – GEM/UFRGS), registered at CNPq’s Directory of Research Groups since 1992, is an interdisciplinary collective of academic training and professional activities in the field of Ethnomusicology/Music Anthropology. GEM comprises students of the Graduate Program in Music and the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.

Supervision of the research conducted by the Group, from undergraduate to doctoral research, has promoted the development of academic projects and dialogical actions of extension and scientific dissemination.
