{"id":463,"date":"2023-06-13T13:49:05","date_gmt":"2023-06-13T16:49:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ufrgs.br\/propar\/?page_id=463"},"modified":"2026-07-03T11:37:38","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T14:37:38","slug":"proficiencia","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ufrgs.br\/propar\/en\/proficiencia\/","title":{"rendered":"Proficiency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MASTER'S DEGREE<\/strong><br>Master's students must become proficient in a foreign language, preferably by the third semester of the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DOCTORATE DEGREE<\/strong><br>Doctoral students have their proficiency taken advantage of when they enter, and must take another proficiency test, in a language other than that taken in the master's degree, preferably by the sixth semester of the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Proficiency tests can be taken within the University, which provides free tests annually.<br>The tests can be taken at external institutions, as long as they are recognized by CAPLLE \u2013 Commission for Assessment of Proficiency in Reading in Foreign Languages.
