The player running with the ball holds it in both hands, with a hand on either side of the ball, fingers spread wide to ensure control and balance. When he is ready to pass the ball, the player swings it across his body in the opposite direction to the one in which he is going to pass it. If the player wants to pass the ball to his right, he first swings the ball to the left side of his body. The player then swings his arms and shoulders back towards the team-mate he wants to pass to and flings the ball across. The ball leaves the player’s hand quickly and with a snap.
