DISEC


 
 
Jéssica da Silva Höring, Director, is a 5th semester student of International Relations at UFRGS. She first took part in a MUN in 2011, when she represented Sierra Leone in the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL), in UFRGSMUN’s 9th edition. In 2012 she represented Belarus in AMUN and took part in UFRGSMUN’s 10th edition as an Assistant Director of the United Nations Environment Programme. This year, in the 11th UFRGSMUN, she will act as a Director of the DISEC.

 
 
 


 
 
Luiza Gimenez Cerioli, Director, is a 7th semester student of International Relations at UFRGS, but this year she is taking her studies abroad in France. Her first contact with MUNs happened already on her first semester in university, in 2010, when she was the delegate of Iran in AMUN. In that same year she represented Japan in UFRGSMUN’S UNSC. In 2011, she was Assistant Director in UFRGSMUN’s SPECPOL. In 2012, Luiza was the Director of the 2012 World Summit on UN Reform: High Level Plenary Meeting of the 67th Session of the General Assembly. This year she will act as a Director at the DISEC.

 
 


 
 
Alexandre Piffero Spohr is a 7th semester International Relations undergraduate at UFRGS. His first modeling experience was the 2009 UFRGSMUN when he represented the Republic of Bulgaria in the North Atlantic Council. Since 2009, he was part of the UFRGSMUN staff three times: first he was Assistant-Director in UFRGSMUN 2010’s United Nations Security Council; in 2011 he was Director of the same committee; and in 2012 he was one of World Bank’s Director. This year he will be Director of the DISEC.

 
 
 


 
 
Gihad Soares is a 5th semester student of International Relations at UFRGS. Taking part in UFRGSMUN’s 11th edition as one of the research assistants of the Disarmament and International Security Commission (DISEC), his first participation in MUNs dates back to 2009. In 2010, Soares won the Best Delegate prize in the United Nations’ Security Council in UFRGSMUN, representing the People’s Republic of China.

 
 
 
 
 


 
 
Bruna dos Santos Lersch, Assistant Director, is a 4th semester student of International Relations at UFRGS. She first took part in a MUN in 2012, when she represented the Kingdom of Morocco in the World Summit on Corruption, in AMUN. In the same year, she participated of the Human Rights Council, in UFRGSMUN, representing Uganda. She’ll be participating in the 11th edition of UFRGSMUN as an assistant director at the DISEC.
