Technology background
Polymerization techniques are used for producing polymers having different types of applications, shapes, Physical properties and polymeric arrays. The polymerization processes in situ ethylene make use of known catalysts, pure carbon nanotubes and / or ethylene monomers.
Technology description
Through loads from forest waste it was developed a polyethylene composite material. Polyethylene nanocomposites have been synthesized by polymerizing in situ using as a load activated carbon with nickel, which conferred the material magnetic properties. The mechanical and thermal properties of the polymer increase with increasing load.
Problem Fixed
The new material with all the excellent properties of polyethylene but improving thermal and mechanical properties and adding magnetic properties at room temperature.
Advantages
– Polymerization in situ reduces a processing step;
– Load dispersion is more efficient;
- Use room temperature;
– The material exhibits magnetic properties;
– Improvement of thermal and mechanical properties.
Applications
– Flexible magnetic materials with good processability;
-Multifunctional materials;
-Magnetic sensors;
-Sensors in medicine;
-Microwave absorbers;
-Automotive and aerospace.
