Welcome to the Official page of the Araquari Experimental Testing Site!
The main scope of the research developed at the Araquari Experimental Testing Site is the investigation of the complex pile-soil interaction mechanisms which develop at pile shaft and base during loading. To this aim, full scale instrumented piles have been installed in well known subsoil conditions and then axially loaded to failure.
At the site, located in Southern Brazil (Santa Catarina, Araquari), comprehensive geotechnical investigations have been carried out comprising SPT, CPT, SDMT, as well as laboratory testing on reconstitute samples. Typical results, show the presence of sandy soils, except for a clay layer between about 18 and 22 m. The water table lies at about 2 m below the ground surface.
