• Project: Formulation and processing of towpregs with differentiated characteristics for composite structures.

Description: CNPq/MCTI No. 44/2024 – Universal Call – The objective of this project is to develop epoxy resin systems and carbon fiber towpregs to boost national composite production. Initially, the focus is on studying epoxy formulation, the preparation route, and its modification with micro- and nanostructured fillers to achieve tailored rheological, thermal, and mechanical properties.

  • • Project: Fiber bragg grating sensors for the monitoring of the response of FW+TFP composite pressure vessels

  • Description: This PROBRAL project aims to develop an innovative methodology for assessing deformations in Type IV composite cylinders produced with FW (Filament Winding) and TFP (Tape Fiber Placement) reinforcements. FEM (Finite Element Method) will be employed to simulate their behavior, which will be monitored by FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) optical fiber sensors. The goal is to enhance models, define a method for incorporating sensors, and achieve stronger cylinders through the use of TFP. It is implementation will expand the existing collaboration between IPF-Dresden/UFRGS by incorporating teams from UFC and UNICAMP.
