The Laboratory of  Ichthyology of the Department of Zoology of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) acts in three areas related to University activity, including teaching, research and extension. The laboratory includes two titular professors, and a research team formed by undergraduate, Phd and Msc students, postdoct fellows, and  collaborators. This team develops different research projects in the area of Comparative Biology of Neotropical freshwater fishes.
