Message from students

Participating in the iPodia Team 2022 was a huge opportunity, and was one of the best experiences that I had at UFRGS. Having virtual classes in a top-ranking American University , and in English , was a challenge , but it was worth it. I learned a lot of new things such as topics of technology and innovation, that I can use now in my Engineering studies and also was a good way to practice my English communication skills. Besides that , I learned a lot about new cultures from different countries , which was an amazing experience for me. But my favorite part was definitely the Overseas Campus Visit, where I met my colleagues from my group project , we worked together in person , and we quickly became friends. I strongly recommend it for UFRGS students to join future programs 🙂

The iPodia Program was one of the best experiences that I had at UFRGS. In class we learned about innovation and entrepreneurship. What excited me the most was when professor Lu said something like "you can't have an innovative thought if you only do the same things with people that think the same way as you do", that triggered something inside my mind... On top of that we had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and learn from a lot of good companies, like Microsoft. All the classes and interactions were in English, so it's also a good way to practice. I loved and recommend it.

The Ipodia 2021 course was for me very enlightening in certain aspects, I absorved the culture of all other countries participating, and exchanged some in the process. At the same time learned a lot about innovation, improved my english and my soft skills participating in the cohorts weekly. I recommend enlisting on this course for every student that intends to be an enterpreneur.

Joining iPodia 2021 last semester was one of the most enriching experiences I've ever partaken. I've got to meet a lot of different students from around the world, join discussions and work directly with them. The multiple projects also challenged the very best of my abilities and ideas. I definitely recommend other students to join it even if they are not that keen on innovation topics as they'll learn a lot and will live very unique experiences.

"Participating in the iPodia Team 2021 was a huge opportunity because I learned about many other cultures and things that I've never seen here, like a square watermelon. Also I could discuss a lot with my colleagues about interesting topics of technology, engineering and innovation. Certainly it was a really important course that I will take a bunch of knowledge for my life and career in engineering."

iPodia was a big challenge that I embraced, one that demanded a lot of time every week, but one that I made a commitment to. Through it, I had access to rich content, in addition to having met and kept in touch with people from far away, which I find fascinating.

The iPodia class was a awesome opportunity. What excited me the most was to communicate with other students from around the globe, getting to know their points of view and experiences. The classes have top tier content and have broaden my scope of possibilities and influenced the path that I’ll pursue in my live. Discussing about innovation and working with my colleagues from other countries made it way more special. It was the first time I’ve ever spoken English in discussions and conversations, so it was a great opportunity to improve my speech. Also, the campus visit was a unique experience. I loved the iPodia program and can't recommend it enought.

Participation in iPodia 2021 was an enriching experience. Having a greater sense of innovations, products, development and engineering in different cultures is certainly something that will add a lot during the personal and professional development of anyone who participates.
