Corrosion Research Laboratory (LAPEC), founded in 1975, is part of the Department of Metallurgy at UFRGS. It operates in different research areas: stress corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement and corrosion fatigue; corrosion protective coatings and high temperature oxidation; coatings obtained by electrodeposition (including DLC); development of materials for energy storage and conversion; surface treatment for biomedical application.
