Established in 2009, the Plant Ecology Lab (LEVEG) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) is associated with the Depatment of Ecology and the Graduate Programme in Ecology.
We conduct research in Ecology, particularly on the areas of Community Ecology and Restoration Ecology. Our research centers in plant community dynamics, investigating structural and functional patterns accross time and space. We also study plant-animal interactions, assessing the response of different sets of organisms to environmental and disturbance gradients.
Our research is carried in forest and grassland ecosystems, as well as forest-grassland ecotones, in the Atlantic Forest and Pampa biomes.
