Description:

The general objective of the research project is to use remote sensing products for the analysis, monitoring and modeling of the climatic and hydrological processes of the earth’s surface. The main objectives of the research project are presented below: Impacts of land use changes (deforestation and agricultural activities) on the processes of precipitation, evapotranspiration and coupling surface atmosphere in tropical and subtropical areas; Mapping of floodplains from active and passive remote sensing images; Estimates of soil moisture and water availability for agricultural activities; Estimation of vegetation parameters from remote sensing for use in hydrological models.
