Fernando Mainardi FanHello! My name is Fernando Mainardi Fan. I am an Environmental Engineer graduated on Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), in southern Brazil. Msc in Water Resources and Environmental Sanitation from Instituto de Pesquisas Hidráulicas (IPH) at UFRGS. PhD in Water Resources and Environmental Sanitation from IPH-UFRGS. Performed a one year duration (2014) sandwich PhD at the Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany.

I work as a Professor from the Department of Hydraulic Works (DOH – Departamento de Obras Hidráulicas) of IPH-UFRGS. Most of my experience is related to working with geographic information systems (GIS), water resources studies, hydrological simulation, hydrological forecasting, water quality studies and modeling, groundwater studies, and sediments studies and modeling.
