The primary focus of the lab is on the evolutionary ecology of seabirds and shorebirds. Major questions concern how the environment can shape population structure in both groups. For this, data from different tools are combined, such as biologging, molecular markers, stable isotopes, and trace elements, in addition to conventional research techniques. Our activities are mostly based on development of original research, but we also contribute to monitoring programs and impact assessments.
