Tipo de Subgênero, cuja função é provocar medo ou inquietação usando elementos do folclore, tradições, superstições, isolamento rural de uma determinada sociedade. É construção de uma atmosfera de tensão e estranhamento associada a crenças e práticas culturais tradicionais.
