Technology background
Contamination of water bodies has been one of the main problems to be faced at the present time due to poor sanitation system and other factors. Among the various residues that are released to the receiving bodies are emerging contaminants, consisting of natural and anthropogenic substances, drugs including, personal care products and hormones, among other compounds. Thus, the development of low cost and able to quickly remove simply and efficiently present compounds in aqueous waste materials is of great interest.
Technology description
The present invention provides a simple obtainment and use of nanostructured material of reduced graphene oxide 3D process, obtained by hydrothermal route. This material can be incorporated into the conventional process of treating water / wastewater and effectively remove these compounds, reducing their concentrations to levels not harmful to human health and wildlife.
Problem Fixed
The nanostructured material of reduced graphene oxide 3D diclofenac drug showed high removal capacity. It does not require the prior stage of conditioning, essential step in the current methods, thereby decreasing the analysis steps.
Advantages
– Simplicity in the preparation;
– Efficiency of adsorption / desorption of environmental contaminant;
– Material inexpensive adsorbent, requiring no structural or morphological changes to improve the extraction efficiency;
– Elimination of conditioning step, decreasing cost and amount of solvents used, which makes it environmentally friendly materials;
– Reuse of the cartridge with the same adsorbent material, It may be used in the same six consecutive repetitions without losing its high efficiency.
Applications
– water and effluent treatment plants removing agents in the raw water, treated, hospital and industrial effluents.
– Application as a stationary phase for pre-concentration sensing device.
