Technology background
Antimicrobial substances available on the market have limitations related to the action spectrum, power, pharmacokinetic properties, safety and resistance. Furthermore, the therapeutic kit available to combat fungal infections, especially, is very limited, being urgent the discovery of new alternatives.
Technology description
Synthetic molecules containing sulfonamides derived from unpublished 8-hydroxyquinoline, applied as antifungal agents, antibacterial and anti- Trichomonas vaginalis, as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing these molecules.
Problem Fixed
The compounds produced have antifungal activity, antibacterial and anti- Trichomonas vaginalis as observed in in vitro tests against, respectively, fungal and bacterial species pathogenic and isolated ATCC of Trichomonas vaginalis, presenting potential for the development of new drugs.
Advantages
– Easy synthetic route.
– Obtained compounds with low molecular weight, which favors pharmaceutical properties of the compositions and an effectiveness of the therapy.
– . in vitro tests have confirmed the functioning of the antimicrobial agents developed.
– The present invention provides substances not yet exploited, meaning, unpublished, presenting potential for the development of new drugs.
Applications
Antimicrobial agent potential, with possibility of activity expansion to others microorganisms.
