Considering the theme of research on architecture and urbanism projects and understanding this action as a reflexive practice in relation to sociocultural, technological and aesthetic themes, the universe of public architectural competitions stands out as an exemplary category of new ideas, investigation of new concepts and values prospection.
Perhaps no other project opportunity will establish such rich and abundant conditions for reflection and debate on contemporary architecture and its directions. In this sense, the research has been systematizing, documenting and exposing unpublished material, safeguarded by each author, which would hardly come to public consultation.
The work, however, has proved to be more arduous than imagined, since the authors of the works do not always have their material organized and available, forcing students and researchers to long journeys of collect and preparation of this material. With this, the production of the collection has been building more slowly than imagined. Even so, it already offers appreciable results and partial products.
