Tests and Analyses
Our laboratory has the technical and laboratory capacity to prepare the tests listed below, performed in accordance with updated national and/or international standards.
Scheduling instructions
- Requesting a test or analysis requires prior scheduling (please check Schedule availability).
- The schedules are intended for the entire teaching and student body of Programa de Pós-graduação em Engenharia Civil: Construção e Infraestrutura (PPGCI) and for external members.

ISOTHERMAL CALORIMETRY
The isothermal conduction calorimetry test allows the analysis of the heat exchange between two media through the released heat rate. In cement, it is used to evaluate the hydration kinetics of hydrated compounds, to define the start and end time of the handle, to evaluate the reactivity of pozzolanic materials, among others.
Equipment: TAM Air
Capacity: 8 ampoules per test
Temperature range: 20 to 50 °C.
Laser Granulometry
Dimensional analysis of granular material by wet method in water. If the material is susceptible to agglomeration it must be previously treated. When making the request, inform the type of solvent in the application.
Equipment: PSA 1090 L Anton-Paar
Granulometric range: (40nm – 500 μm)
POZZOLANIC ACTIVITY INDEX PER MODIFIED CHAPELLE
Analysis of pozzolanic activity allows observing the potential for reactivity of pozzolanic materials by fixed calcium hydroxide content, according to the orientations of NBR 15895 (ABNT, 2010).
The test has a duration of two days, prior scheduling being necessary.
Thermogravimetry
Thermal analysis with variation of the sample mass.
Equipment: Mettler Toledo
Temperature range: (25 – 1000°C)
