The international insertion of PPG Phytotechnics occurs through agreements and alliances with educational and research institutions of other countries, such as Germany, Argentina, Canada, Costa Rica, Spain, USA, France, Italy, Israel, Mexico, Portugal , Uruguay, among others, the program also provides entrance to students of other countries, such as Paraguay, Cuba and Colombia, carrying out their course in our program.

The participation of professors and graduate students in sandwich doctoral programs (SWE), postdoctoral (PDE) or senior internships (ESN), with promotion of Capes and CNPq, mainly, has also been intensively in our program.

The program launched by the UFRGS, "Short duration Mission", has also provided every year travels, for students and teachers of the PPG, strengthening contacts and alliances with institutions and researchers through participation in events, visits to laboratories and research centers abroad.

The participation of teachers from program, publishing in international journals, participating as reviewers and as editorial board members in journals from abroad, is also a constant.

The PPG Phytotechnics encourages training in a foreign language, which is facilitated by the UFRGS since 2012, free of charge to all students enrolled in postgraduate programs.

In addition, the program encourages the participation of foreign teachers, who have taught courses, conferences and disciplines, seeking to enrich the knowledge base available for students, and to encourage them to participate in projects with international insertion.
