Some definitions (in addition to those valid for all living organisms) :

• subcellular structures
• cytosis = transport around the plasma membrane (instead of through the plasma membrane)
• ribosomes = 80S complexes [40S (= 21 S proteins, 18S rRNA) + 60S (= 25 to 28S rRNA, 5S rRNA)]. Synthesised in the nucleoli and transported via nuclear pores into cytoplasm.
• cytoplast = an enucleated cell
