This week we will begin the GPMC research seminars. Come and learn a little about what we are doing this Thursday, the 15th, from 9 am. PhD student Alina Flores will be in charge of the seminar and will present a little about her research “Spatial marketing applied to business opportunity identification“. The meeting will be hybrid. Feel free to join us! Below is a brief description of the seminar:
Many Brazilian entrepreneurs fail to effectively market their businesses due to a lack of strategic marketing knowledge, resulting in a high number of companies closing down within their first few years of existence. This missing knowledge is crucial for decision-making, as it involves an understanding of the company, its competitors, the market, and current/potential customers. Environmental conditions data (i.e., market characteristics) broadly needs to be interpreted to have strategic implications, such as discovering business opportunities. One way to conduct this study is to use spatial marketing analysis. It is crucial when considering the geographic viability of a business opportunity. In this talk, Alina will discuss how the theory of spatial marketing can be applied to business opportunity identification.
